The new Mark & Paula Hurd Welcome Center will be a shining beacon to Baylor visitors. The $60-million project is slated to open in 2023. At 120,000 square feet, it will feature an interactive and high-impact introduction to campus.

This will be the epicenter for academic, cultural and social activities, and include a grand hall, auditorium, ballroom and office space. When completed, prospective students, their families and alumni will be able to enjoy musical and theatrical performances as well as athletic activities and graduation ceremonies. Visitors can grab a coffee or meal and shop the spirit store.

Strategic development of the surrounding property is anticipated to include businesses that will help the center become a Waco destination. The center is named for and honors the philanthropy of Paula and the late Mark Hurd. Mark was a 1979 Baylor graduate who became CEO of Austin-based Oracle Corporation and vice chairman of Baylor’s Board of Regents.
